Cancer Support Services

Online workshops for people with a cancer diagnosis.  

Mindful coping with an initial cancer diagnosis – Online

Designed for people newly diagnosed with cancer. It provides information and skills-based training to assist with coping with the initial diagnosis and developing strategies to cope with treatment. A 5 session online program, drawing on mindfulness and guided visualisation practice combined with positive psychology, CBT and emotional regulation skills. 

Mindful coping with treatment – Online

Designed for people going through the intensive phase of their cancer treatment. A 10 session program consisting of mindfulness and guided meditation practice, combined with online education and support. 

Relaunching after cancer – Online

Designed for people at the end of their intensive treatment of surgery/chemotherapy/radiotherapy who are wanting to get back into life. Appreciating that their experience of their health issues might have given them a different perspective on life, and a desire to make changes and relaunch back in to life with a focus on self-compassion and purposeful action, to achieve their life dreams and experience greater richness in their life. 

If you participate in the program, it will comprise of a review of your
strengths and values at the start of the program, combined with conducting a life audit to see if you are living your life the way you want to be and prioritising what matters to you. This, combined with regular mindfulness practice and guided visualisation with other psychologically based strategies to encourage you to create a rich, full life with meaning.

This 10-session program draws on wellness principles, combined with mindfulness practice, guided visualisation, positive psychology, CBT, behaviour change principles, relationship skills and emotional regulation skills to help you make steps towards creating the life you want to achieve and cope with any residual worries from your cancer experience. 

Wellness Approach to Living

These online programs are designed to assist people to become the best version of themselves. 

Mindfulness-Based Programs – An online skills-based program in mindfulness skills. Suitable for adults. This program is in development

Enriched Living Programs – An online skills-based program designed to assist people to ensure that they are living, not just existing as they travel though life. Using mindfulness and positive psychology skills combined with a review of your strengths, values and life goals. Psychological principles are taught that can assist you in making some steps towards the goals you want to achieve in your life. This program is in development

Clinical Psychology Services

Clinical Psychology services are available for adults either face to face in our rooms at Evandale or via telehealth. Some common issues we assist people with include:

  • Adults experiencing a range of mental health challenges such as:
    • Anxiety
    • Depression
    • Adjustment issues
    • Trauma experiences
    • Grief and Loss
  • Relationship counselling
  • People experiencing a cancer diagnosis or other health conditions

We utilise a range of treatment modalities and tailor these to the individual needs of each person. Some of these include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, Hypnosis and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gottman Relationship Counselling and emotional regulation skills

Home Based Physiotherapy Services

Home-based physiotherapy services are available for people living in the Adelaide metropolitan area where a rehabilitation approach is adopted to assist people to achieve their functional goals. This is particularly suitable for people rehabilitating from recent hospitalisations or experiencing chronic health conditions, people concerned about falling or having had a recent fall, people with a cancer diagnosis or people with neurological conditions.
